“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit.”
– John 15:16

On the 28th of November 2018, the Archdiocese of Palo celebrated its 80th Anniversary as a Diocese. Eighty years of existence and service to the people. On that momentous day as well, three aspiring deacons, Rev. Bert David Carillo from Sto. Niño Parish, Tacloban City, Rev. Mikhael Cabangisan from St. Matthew Parish, Jaro Leyte, and Rev. Ryan Janelle Salvacion from St. Joachim Parish, San Joaquin, Palo Leyte, vowed to embrace the life of priesthood. A life chosen and favored by the Almighty for such individuals who have been generous and open to His calling. It is a life where only few ventures and seeks to unfold the path laid down to them. From there years of formation in the seminary, as seminarians, molded and honed, they have responded with such humility and love that brought them to this fateful day. They thrived to integrate the various structures of human, spiritual, academic, and pastoral aspects of formation. All for the ministry and mission of the Church. As it was promised, “I will give you shepherds after my own heart.” (Jeremiah 5:11) To be like Christ and a servant to all.

Currently, they are assigned in different parishes of the Archdiocese. They are as follows:
